1WC'sChannel REVIEW 2012: RT News - At least seven soldiers are feared dead after a powerful explosion hit the center of Tunceli, a provincial city in eastern Turkey. Security sources believe it was a terrorist attack. Several injuries have also been reported, and ambulances have been dispatched to tend to the wounded, according to local media.
The blast happened as an armored police vehicle was passing through a downtown thoroughfare on Tuesday at approximately 6:00 pm local time. Security sources said an explosive device was planted in a parked car by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The explosive-laden car was detonated remotely when the vehicle passed by.
Scores of ambulances and fire trucks are at the scene as a plume of smoke could be seen rising above the city. The explosion caused a fire in the area, and several cars in the vicinity were scorched. Several of the injured soldiers were whisked to the Tunceli State Hospital. There is no confirmation on the exact number of casualties, though sources say some of the injured died while in transit to hospital.
Gunfire was also reportedly heard at the scene, but reporters could not confirm if a clash was underway as the area was sealed off, local Hurriyet Daily News reports. Tensions have risen between the PKK and the Turkish army recently, as Kurds across the border in Northern Syria have begun clamoring for greater autonomy following the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad.
PKK fighters killed 10 soldiers and wounded at least 60 last Tuesday when they ambushed a military convoy with rocket fire in eastern Turkey. The attack came as Turkey has targeted PKK camps along the southeastern border region with Iraq in recent weeks with airstrikes. Last Monday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that 500 Kurdish rebels have been killed in September alone.
A regional prosecutor was also wounded last week in a separate attack blamed on Kurdish rebels in the Tunceli province, located in Northern Kurdistan, which makes up roughly the easternmost third of Turkey. The ambush was allegedly staged by two members of the PKK, a security source told AFP on condition of anonymity.
In August the PKK, which is fighting for the foundation of an autonomous Kurdish region in Turkey's mainly Kurdish south-east, kidnapped an MP near the city of Tunceli. The parliamentarian, Huseyin Aygun - who is a Kurd - was later released. The PKK first launched a guerrilla war in 1984 to establish an independent Kurdish state in the region. While the group later dropped its aims of establishing an independent state, it is still fighting for greater autonomy and rights for Kurds. More than 40,000 people have died in the conflict which has raged on for nearly three decades.

BEIRUT (AP) - Syrian soldiers fought rebels Tuesday in a firefight that killed nine people and sent several mortars sailing across the border into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The Israeli military said nobody was hurt in the shelling and that the spillover was believed to be accidental. But Israel filed a complaint to the United Nations peacekeeping force that patrols the tense region between Israel and Syria. Over the course of the 18-month-old uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad, violence has spilled into neighboring Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. In July, mortar shells fell about one kilometer (half a mile) from the Golan boundary.
The spillover is among the most worrying developments from the Syria crisis, which has the potential to enflame the entire region. Activists said Tuesday that the clashes between troops and rebels inside Syria killed at least nine people. On Tuesday, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon demanded international action to stop the war in Syria, telling a somber gathering of world leaders that the 18-month conflict had become "a regional calamity with global ramifications."
"The international community should not look the other way as violence spirals out of control," Ban said. Also at the United Nations, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and the U.N.'s new Syria mediator Lakhdar Brahimi discussed ways to unite Syria's opposition and advance a political transition. A senior U.S. official said the two discussed new strategies for dealing with the Assad regime. The official demanded anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. An Israeli defense official said the military believes Tuesday's incident in the Golan Heights was a mistake and the mortars were not aimed at the Jewish state. It was not the first time shells from Syria exploded in Israel since the uprising began, the official said on condition of anonymity because he is not allowed to brief the media.
There have been concerns in Israel that the long-quiet Israel-Syria frontier area could become a new Islamist front against the Jewish state. Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war and annexed the plateau 14 years later. Syria and Israel are bitter enemies and have fought several wars, including the 1973 war. Despite the animosity, the border with Syria has been Israel's quietest since then. The defense official said Israel is concerned that the border region could become as lawless and deadly as Israel's frontier with Egypt's Sinai Peninsula has become since the fall of longtime Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak last year.
The Israeli news site YNet quoted a resident near the border as saying the mortars struck an area filled with apple trees. "All in all there has been a lot shooting and mortars really close to the border," Dudi Mored, resident of Kibbutz Elrom, an Israeli settlement in the Golan, told Ynet. Although the uprising against Assad has been an unprecedented challenge to his family's four-decade ruling dynasty, the regime has managed to keep its grip on power. Neither side of the conflict has been able to deal a decisive blow, leading to a grinding and deadly stalemate. Activists estimate that the conflict has killed some 30,000 people since the revolt began in March 2011.

Over the past few months, rebels have increasingly targeted security sites and symbols of regime power, particularly in the main cities of Damascus and Aleppo, in a bid to turn the tide. In July, a bombing in the heart of Damascus killed four senior security officials including the defense minister and Assad's brother-in-law. Other large blasts have targeted the headquarters of security agencies in the capital, killing scores of people this year.
Abu Hisham al-Shami, an activist based in Damascus, told The Associated Press via Skype that the "Sons of Martyrs School" had recently been turned into a regime security center. He said government forces use the school as a base to fire mortars at rebellious neighborhoods.
State-run television quoted the director of the school, Mohammed Amin Othman, as saying that two bombs exploded inside the school, wounding seven people and causing minor damage. State TV said the bombs were planted by "terrorists," the term the government uses for rebels. Othman said in a statement carried by the official SANA news agency that no students were at the school at the time of the blast because it does not open until next week. Although the school year started last week in Syria, Othman said the boarding school opens later.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 20 people were wounded, some of them seriously, in several blasts at the school. It said most of the wounded were members of the military. A worker outside the school, who refused to be identified, said two diesel tankers exploded inside the school compound, wounding at least four people, one of them seriously. He added that the wounded were rushed to nearby hospitals. He said a thick plume of smoke billowed over the area and fire reached the fifth story of the building. A nearby theater for the school's students was partially damaged and the blast caused its ceiling to collapse. Also Tuesday, Syrian rebels released Lebanese citizen Awad Ibrahim, who was one of 11 Shiite Muslim pilgrims abducted in May shortly after entering Syria from Turkey on their way to Lebanon, the Lebanese state-run National News Agency reported.
Ibrahim, who crossed into Turkey Tuesday afternoon and expected to fly home later, is the second to be released. The nine others are still being held in northern Syria. His release came after two Turkish citizens and several Syrians were set free in Beirut after being abducted by Lebanese tribesmen to press for the release of Lebanese. Turkey hosts leading Syrian opposition figures and rebel commanders. In Jordan, dozens of Syrian refugees angry over harsh living conditions in their desert tent camp clashed with Jordanian police, hurling stones and smashing charity offices and a hospital, officials and refugees said Tuesday.
The rioting late Monday in the Zaatari camp was the worst violence since the facility opened in July near the Jordan-Syria border. More than 25 policemen were injured by stones thrown by the refugees, a police official said.
A Syrian refugee in the camp, Abu Nawras, said police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters who were demanding improved conditions, better food and education for their children. The camp, which hosts about 32,000 Syrians who fled the civil war at home, has seen smaller protests in the past weeks as refugees mostly complained about snakes and scorpions, and demanded their tents be replaced with trailers so they can better protect themselves from the scorching sun, cold nights and ubiquitous dust. Hundreds of thousands have fled the chaos in Syria as the uprising against President Bashar Assad turned increasingly violent. Jordan alone has taken in some 200,000 Syrians - the largest number in the region - while Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq have taken in the rest.

In Islam however, Mecca which currently lies at longitude 39.8˚E is the holy center of the Earth and therefore all longitudes must be corrected by subtracting39.8˚ from their current values. This correction can help us locate the first point at which the first event of latitude 13˚ would hit Earth assuming the chapter number Surah *55 to be a longitude number.

This also shows how merciful God is by targeting least-populated areas first to give people enough time to heed His warnings and move out of harm's way for at least 4 days and come back if their areas are still habitable. Note that a latitude is ~110km wide so not all areas within a latitude would be hit and some may be missed deliberately by God especially places of worship to show that we all worship the same ONE GOD regardless of our different religious paths.

Cuts and tears: Greek police disperse angry mob . . .
RT News (Published: 10 February, 2012) Greek riot police have used tear gas to disperse the crowd of raging rioters throwing petrol bombs and stones. Greece is at a standstill once again, with people venting their anger at more cuts, which the EU is demanding in return for vital funds. Violence erupted during as a peaceful 7,000-strong crowd was heading to the Greek parliament, the Associated Press reported. Several groups of youth started throwing stones and Molotov cocktails and the police had to use tear gas to defuse the tension.
No injuries have been reported. A total of some 17,000 people gathered for two separate strikes in Athens, as Greece’s two biggest unions launched a 48-hour strike on Friday. Most public services in Greece were affected, including public transport and hospitals. The fresh protests come a day after the Greek parliament discussed a deal on a new set of cuts and an agreement with private creditors on the parameters of a debt write-down.

Greek ministers resign . . .
The Greek cabinet has lost six ministers in two days, as politicians continue to resign, refusing to accept the tough burden of new austerity measures imposed on Greece. The deputy foreign minister, Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou from the socialist PASOK party, was the latest to resign on Friday.
The LAOS party's transport minister and the deputy ministers of the merchant marine and agriculture resigned earlier the same day. The deputy labour minister, Yannis Koutsoukos, a member of the Socialist Party resigned a day before on Thursday, saying that he was quitting because the measures were "painful for working people." Greece's far-right LAOS party leader, George Karatzaferis, said he would not vote in favor of a new bailout agreement. However, with only 16 deputies in the parliament, LAOS party will not be able to block the bailout agreement in case the Socialists and the conservatives vote in its favor.
The parliament is due to vote on the agreement on Monday. Greece has a total debt of about 350 billion euro, and is trying to negotiate a 130-billion-euro bailout from the EU and International Monetary Fund, which, if it is agreed, will be the second such cash bailout.

Greek police fire tear-gas at protesters . . .
Riot police in full gear including gas-masks have resorted to extreme measures after the rally against anti-austerity measures in front of the Greek parliament turned violent. A crowd of several thousands had gathered on Syntagma Square in the heart of the Greek capital to protest against the parliamentary debates on new austerity measures. If passed, the measures could see the country secure a crucial €130 million bailout from the EU and the IMF.
Youths in masks and scarves wrapped around their faces threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at the law enforcement officers. The square was soon filled up with tear-gas, and small fires were also visible in the streets. Sticks, stones and sometimes even garbage bins were used by the protesting youths as they focused their anger at riot police. Ambulances were on site and a number of people received medical treatment, some even taken away on stretchers.
At least ten buildings went up in flames as the riots engulfed the center of the Greek capital. A three-story corner building believed to be a home appliances store was severely damaged by fire. Among other buildings damaged were a cinema, a bank, a mobile phone dealership, a glassware shop and a coffee shop, the Associated Press says citing the fire department.

Nu'aim bin Hammad meriwayatkan dengan sanadnya bahwa Rasulullah Shallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam bersabda: Bila telah muncul suara di bulan Ramadhan, maka akan terjadi huru-hara di bulan Syawwal (Ogos/Ramadan hingga September/Shawwal)"
Kami bertanya: "Suara apakah, ya Rasulullah?" Beliau menjawab:
"Suara keras di pertengahan bulan Ramadhan, pada malam Jum'at, akan muncul suara keras yang membangunkan orang tidur, menjadikan orang yang berdiri jatuh terduduk, para gadis keluar dari pingitannya, pada malam Jum'at di tahun terjadinya banyak gempa. Jika kalian telah melaksanakan shalat Subuh pada hari Jum'at, masuklah kalian ke dalam rumah kalian, tutuplah pintu-pintunya, sumbatlah lubang-lubangnya, dan selimutilah diri kalian, sumbatlah telinga kalian.
Jika kalian merasakan adanya suara menggelegar, maka bersujudlah kalian kepada Allah dan ucapkanlah: "Mahasuci Al 'Quddus, Mahasuci Al 'Quddus, Rabb kami Al 'Quddus!", karena barangsiapa melakukan hal itu akan selamat, tetapi barangsiapa yang tidak melakukan hal itu akan binasa".
FITNAH AHLAS, FITNAH SARRA dan FITNAH DUHALMA'
Menurut riwayat Abu Daud, bahwa perawi hadits ini berkata: Aku telah mendengar Abdullah bin Umar berkata: Kami pernah duduk di sisi Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, beliau menerangkan panjang-lebar tentang berbagai macam huru-hara, hingga akhirnya menyebut Fitnah Ahlas (huru-hara tiada habisnya) Seseorang bertanya,
"Ya Rasul Allah, apa itu Fitnah Ahlas?"
Nabi Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam menjawab, "Ialah perampasan harta dan keluarga, lalu dibawa lari." (Rasul melanjutkan keterangannya), "Kemudian timbullah, sesudah itu Fitnah Sarra' (huru-hara kemewahan), yang tipuan ataupun kerusakannya keluar dari bawah telapak kaki seseorang (yang mengaku) dari ahli baitku.
Dia mengaku dari keluargaku, padahal dia bukan keluargaku. Wali-waliku hanyalah orang-orang yang bertakwa. "Kemudian manusia mengandalkan seseorang, bagaikan buntut bersandar pada tulang rusuk. Dan sesudah itu timbullah Fitnah Duhalma' (huru-hara sangat dahsyat), yang tidak membiarkan seorang pun dari umat ini melainkan dilandanya Sampai-sampai bila dikatakan huru-hara itu telah usai, maka ia kembali lagi, dimana seseorang di pagi hari beriman, lalu petang harinya menjadi kafir.

A UK-based human rights group says the anti-government Free Syrian Army attacked a military airbase near Aleppo on Thursday with a tank believed to have been taken from government forces. 16, August 2012 "Syria Massacre" A large bomb has exploded adjacent to a hotel used by UN monitors in Damascus, wounding at least three people. Syrian state television reported on the blast, stating the bomb was attached to a gas canister.
